Books for Charity
The U Committee at UNSW collects donated books for the annual Bookfair in April at the Round House UNSW. All donations are welcome from library culls, home downsizing, deceased estates or just "no more shelf space". We also collect magazines, vinyl records, cassettes and DVDs. Books range from popular novels to biographies, art books, University texts and rare and out-of-print books. In fact every genre is included.

The Bookfair has been operating for over 40 years and we have raised close to $3 million in that time. All proceeds go to University projects. Some of projects which have benefited include a Science Prize, Literary Fellowship, UNSW solar racing team, Sir Anthony Mason Garden, Australia Ensemble, Stuart Piano, UNSW archives, scuptures and the Io Myers Studio for Dance.

If you would like to donate phone 9385 0210 on Mondays between 10 am and 3pm or leave a recorded message. You can find out more about us from our website www.bookfair.unsw.edu.au

Queen Street & West Woollahra Association

The Queen Street and West Woollahra Association (QSWWA) is a residents' and traders' action group, formed to further the interests of local inhabitants and business people. It acts as a forum through which they can raise their voices effectively on planning matters and influence the decisions of public authorities.

The association is vitally concerned to preserve both the”village high street” atmosphere of Queen St and the interesting architectural heritage of the areas. It also seeks to prevent unsympathetic real estate development and to improve amenities for local residents.

Save the Liverpool Plains
Some of our country customers are involved in the campaign to Save the Liverpool Plains from mining. If mining goes ahead we will lose a major food bowl close to Sydney to say nothing of the effect that mining under the floodplains might have on the Murray-Darling Basin water catchment. The website address is www.ccag.org.au.
